The 5 best auto parts suppliers in Malta that keep your engine running smoothly

  • Product Range and Availability: We prioritised auto parts shops that stock a wide range of components, filters, brake pads, and body panels. This makes it easy to find what you need in one trip.
  • Experience and Specialisation: We investigated the length of time each shop has been in business and whether it specialises in certain vehicle brands or systems, such as European cars or radiator repairs.
  • Pricing and Value: We favoured suppliers with clear pricing and fair euro rates, especially those offering OEM options alongside budget-friendly alternatives.
  • Customer Service and Delivery Options: We considered how responsive and helpful the staff are, both in-store and online, and whether they offer services such as free delivery or on-the-spot installation advice.
  • Reliability and Reputation: We based our list on customer reviews, return policies, and overall satisfaction. We made sure these are suppliers we’d confidently return to ourselves.

If your car had a voice, it would be screaming for help now. That weird rattle you’ve been ignoring? Not cute anymore.

Every ride needs love, especially when parts start giving up. And no, duct tape doesn’t count as a long-term solution.

Get your baby the best parts from reliable auto part suppliers in Malta and keep it running smoother, safer, and sassier than ever. The road awaits, and so does a better drive.

Coleiro General Sales Ltd was founded in 1976 by the late Paul Coleiro as a paint and garage equipment supplier. It was the first private Maltese firm to use a computerised accounts and invoicing system, which is a big deal.

Now part of the larger Coleiro Group with over 200 staff across multiple sectors, the automotive division focuses purely on importing, distributing, and stocking OEM-quality parts for various vehicles.

What stands out to us is their access to top-tier brands like TRW, MOOG, and Hutchinson belts, which you won’t find elsewhere on the island. Add in their same-day delivery service, and they understand the urgency of getting vehicles back on the road.

The only hitch? Stock availability can vary depending on the vehicle model, meaning some items may still need to be ordered. This isn’t uncommon for niche parts, but it’s worth factoring in if you need something immediately.

On the tech side, their online oil-matching tool is surprisingly handy. It narrows down the exact grade and capacity you need. Paired with their motorsport discount for MMF-licensed users, it’s clear they’re about catering to performance-minded customers.

Pros

  • Long history in Malta’s automotive sector
  • Provides OEM-grade brands not widely available locally
  • Same-day delivery across Malta
  • Comprehensive range for cars to heavy vehicles
  • Provides an online oil-matching tool
  • Offers otorsport discounts for MMF-licensed users

Cons

  • Stock availability can be model-dependent

Friendly and helpful

“Number #1 Best Place to Find Every Elite And Mid-Ranged Car Battery and Marine Battery in Malta on the whole Island. I Give Coleiro General Sales a 10 out of 10 for variety and selection and service and knowledge and frendlieness and helpfulness.”

Alf Gatt Autoparts has been a fixture since 1985, building a reputation as one of Malta’s established auto parts importers. They have a strong niche in supplying aftermarket body panels, bumpers, and other exterior parts for European and Asian makes.

However, since the bulk of their stock consists of aftermarket or second-hand items, fit and durability can vary unless you specifically request OEM parts.

Still, we found their dual focus on body and mechanical parts impressive—a rarity for local suppliers. You can pick up wishbones, radiators, brake pads, or piston rings alongside panels and lights, saving you the hassle of running between different shops.

They also go beyond selling parts by offering air-conditioning diagnostics and servicing at the shop. We like that they have a strong international supply network from Italy, Taiwan, China, the US, and Denmark, so orders are quickly fulfilled.

Another plus is their in-house online quoting system that lets you check availability and track your order status. We found the staff helpful and knowledgeable, and their quick replies over WhatsApp and Facebook made the whole process a lot smoother.

Pros

  • Established local presence with 30 years of experience
  • Stocks both the body and mechanical parts
  • Strong international supply network
  • Offers original OEM parts upon request
  • Provides A/C diagnostic and servicing in-shop or on-site
  • Provides an online quote and order-tracking system

Cons

  • Mainly aftermarket or second-hand stock

Friendly and down to earth

“Dropped by with my car without making an appointment and was not turned away. My car AC was not cooling and was fixed immediately. I had the system vacuumed and recharged within 30min. The service guy was friendly and down to earth. Hopefully I have no leaks :), drove away with my TT happy and cooler.”

Helpful and knowledgeable

“Friendly and efficient Staff, all vehicle parts if not in house, are ordered & waiting time minimal, the staff are helpful and knowledgeable, Great Service.”

We found Highway Services to be one of the longest-running names in Malta. Established in 1946 and now in its third generation, they’ve built a reputation for supplying filtration and mechanical components to garages and even marine operators.

They stock over 3,000 filter types, covering everything from fuel and oil to hydraulic and industrial applications. We like that they distribute premium brands like Mann+Hummel, Fleetguard, Hifi, DEUTZ, and Racor, which guarantee OEM-level quality for clients.

It’s also rare that they handle cars, trucks, marine vessels, and heavy-duty industrial equipment under one roof. They even have a Birkirkara workshop that offers diagnostics, installations, and engine testing.

Another feature we appreciate is their free island-wide delivery for stocked items. It shows they value efficiency, especially for busy workshops that can’t afford downtime waiting for supplies.

However, as mentioned above, they are heavily focused on filters and core mechanical parts. If you’re looking for body panels, accessories, or rare vintage components, this might not be the place for you.

Pros

  • Over 70 years of industry experience
  • Exclusive distributor of premium filtration brands
  • Over 3,000 filter types in stock for auto and industrial needs
  • In-house workshop with diagnostics and testing
  • Free island-wide delivery

Cons

  • Limited range for body panels or accessories

JGB Autoparts is Malta’s go-to Japanese and Korean car parts supplier. Operating from two locations—Paola on Hill and Msida on Valley Road, they make it easy to grab what you need, whether in the south or central part of the island.

They stock over 13,000 items in 73 product lines across 11 families, all rated to OEM-equivalent quality. You’ll find clutch kits with OE-grade seals and steering joints built for durability, complete bearing kits, and lubricants you could want.

While their range for Asian models like Toyota, Honda, and Kia is one of the best we’ve seen, they don’t offer installation or workshop services. You’ll need to handle fitting yourself or find a separate garage.

More than that, their stock includes premium brands such as Red Line oil and SWAG engine oil. Plus, everything’s available for delivery from local stock.

What stood out most to us is how easy it is to work with them. Whether ordering online or calling for advice, they’re responsive and helpful. That combination of expertise and convenience makes them feel like more than just a parts counter.

Joem Autoparts Ltd has been in existence since 1984. It started as a small service before evolving into one of Malta’s biggest auto parts suppliers. They now serve passenger cars and industrial clients, offering workshop equipment and lubricants.

Their inventory is seriously impressive, with over 60,000 parts in stock across their San Ġiljan and St. Venera branches. We were drawn to their premium brand lineup, which includes Bosch, Sachs, and Filtron, so you’re not just getting generic spares.

Aside from parts, they stock everything from batteries and oils to diagnostic tools and coolants. In fact, they also cater to a broad range of European and Japanese vehicles without compromising quality.

However, one thing to note is that there’s no e-commerce checkout, so you’ll need to call or message to place an order.

Despite this, we especially like their accessibility, with two well-placed outlets and consistent opening hours that make it easy to pop in. It’s the kind of setup that feels both professional and approachable, and we’d happily return for our next purchase.

Pros

  • Has over 35 years of technical expertise
  • Over 60,000 parts in stock across two locations
  • Premium OEM brands like Bosch, Sachs, and Filtron
  • Supplies batteries, coolants, and more
  • Serves European and Japanese vehicles

Cons

  • No e-commerce checkout

Excellent service

“Fitted a new battery on my Mondeo 2.0 TDCI.  Notwithstanding the organised chaos in front of their San Gwann outlet – not their fault, busy road was being dug up just in front of their premises!, I was given excellent service by Jason who checked car’s electrics & replaced battery across the road surrounded by traffic. Merits more than 5 stars in my opinion. Highly recommended!”

Best prices on the island

“All automotive needs under one roof. Best prices on the island. Hand tools and diagnostic equipment are also available. New brands are being added. Now also selling ELF motor oils. Recommended for Renault, Dacia, and most motorcycle brands.”
