I used to think a quick trim would do, until I found myself constantly tying my hair up. All changed after one visit to a really good salon. After explaining what I wanted and seeing it done properly, it showed me how much of a difference the right stylist can make.
To help you choose more easily and avoid what I did, I’ve put together a list of standout hair salons in Malta known for quality work and genuinely good results.

I recently visited THE ROOM, and it quickly became clear why so many people trust them with their hair.
Although the salon itself opened in 2018, founder Dorianne brings over 20 years of professional experience to the chair, and it shows in every detail. From consultation to finish, the team’s confidence, technique, and attentiveness stood out. The atmosphere felt unhurried and personal, with a genuine focus on what would work best for my hair rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
One of my favourite treatments is their organic scalp massage, designed to boost blood circulation while cleansing, detoxifying, and nourishing the scalp. It’s especially beneficial for clients dealing with dry, oily, or flaky scalps and adds a deeply relaxing element to the overall experience.
THE ROOM is particularly well known for its balayage work, delivering soft, natural-looking colour results. They are also highly sought after for keratin treatments, one of their top services, which use exclusively imported products such as Cadiveu and Brasil Cacau to smooth, strengthen, and restore hair. I personally opted for extensions after seeing how seamlessly they blended on previous clients, with results that looked natural and well-balanced.
To help clients maintain their hair between visits, the salon offers professional aftercare products. THE ROOM is the local exclusive agent for My.Organics, a premium Italian haircare brand made from 100% natural ingredients. These products can be purchased directly at the salon in Żurrieq or conveniently via their Wolt store, with an official website launching in the near future.
I also love that they aren’t confined to the salon space. THE ROOM offers wedding hairstyling and on-location services, making it easy to look polished and confident for special events wherever they take place.
The only minor drawback is the absence of a dedicated website at the moment, which would make browsing services and inspiration easier. That said, the quality of their work, depth of experience, and personalised approach more than make up for this small inconvenience.

One feature I love is their mobile app. It allows for faster, more convenient booking, especially for clients on the go. This also makes managing appointments easier overall.
During visits, customers are also treated to complimentary head massages, a thoughtful touch that adds to the overall experience.
Dean Gera ensures that their stylists receive continuous education and stay up to date with current techniques and trends through their training academy in Msida. This helps staff improve while maintaining service consistency across all branches.
In addition to cutting and colouring services, the salon also offers bridal hairstyling, hair extensions, and professional haircare products for at-home maintenance.
One limitation is that, unlike other salons, they don’t offer advanced scalp treatments for clients with certain skin conditions.

What I love most is that they offer a free service consultation. It’s a simple gesture, but it shows they care about getting your preferred look right from the start. Their services cover a full salon experience, from cutting to colouring and makeup.
They also offer one-to-one hair and makeup training, which is perfect if you want to learn professional techniques from the pros.
Also, the fact that they are sponsored by AVIFILM Hair Strips Colouring adds more credibility to their services.
One thing to note is that they don’t offer eyebrow or lash services. So, if you are looking for the full beauty package, you may need to check another salon for eyebrow grooming.
Regardless, a standout point is their industry recognition. They have been a member of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing Creative Excellence since 2019.

What’s really impressive is how much Francesco focuses on teaching others. His masterclasses are widely respected for their in-depth exploration of advanced colouring techniques and hair health.
If you’re serious about learning from a top professional, his classes are a rare chance to pick up skills from an innovative stylist. He also offers bridal styling and L’Oreal straightening.
My only gripe? This salon doesn’t currently offer hair extension services, which some clients may seek for extra length or volume.

Hair Haven Malta has grown into one of the go-to spots for both salon services and premium haircare products.
Established in 2005, they have built a strong reputation for quality and variety for nearly two decades.
One thing that really sets them apart is how they bridge salon expertise and retail convenience. They were awarded “Best Online Local Seller” and “Best Fashion & Beauty Brand” by the MCCAA in 2021.
In-salon, you will find the usual essentials—haircuts, styling, and colouring. They also offer great treatments like keratin smoothing and straightening, so you can go beyond a simple visit and really transform your hair.
What’s fun about Hair Haven is the boutique-style approach to products. They sell premium haircare brands, including Karseell, Moroccan Paul Mitchell, and many more.
However, they don’t currently offer makeup or brow shaping, unlike others. You will have to book with another stylist for that.
The colour came out as I wished
“Writing this after I just got my hair bleached and coloured. I was surprised with how lively the environment was. The employees were all very kind and caring, and they talked with each other, and with their clientele, as if they were family. They showed interest in every person and made sure everyone was welcomed properly.
Before we started bleaching my hair, they explained to me clearly the process that was going to be done to my hair to turn it from black to dark red. They also guaranteed that if the colour did not come out the shade I wished, we could lighten it or darken it, which I truly appreciated.
After the whole process of bleaching and dyeing my hair, the colour came out as I wished. When I asked, the employees gave me a list of products which they recommended to maintain my colour.
I was also very happy with the price I was charged, as I found it reasonable for all the work that was put into my hair.
Couldn’t recommend this place enough. Thank you to everyone for making me feel at home. The employees are clearly passionate about what they do, and, as I mentioned before, they make you feel welcome ❤️
