The Ultimate Guide to the 5 Best Spas in Malta

Facility Variety: We prioritized spas offering a complete thermal circuit. This includes unique amenities like authentic hammams, ice plunges, or flotation tanks.

Clinical & Wellness Standards: Preference was given to centers that integrate medical-grade technology or have in-house clinical teams for physiotherapy. High-quality skincare tools and knowledgeable staff were essential for our list.

Atmosphere & Setting: We evaluated the physical environment of each specific location. We rewarded spas housed in unique heritage fortifications or high-end luxury resorts with premium bay views.

Verified Consistency: We analyzed recent customer feedback across over four thousand reviews to ensure service reliability. This helped us verify therapist expertise and strict hygiene standards across all featured locations.

Finding a place to unwind shouldn’t add to your stress. A good massage or spa session can completely reset your week, especially when life starts to feel hectic.

Whether you’re looking for quick muscle recovery or a romantic weekend escape, Malta offers a wide range of wellness experiences. You’ll find everything, from modern spa facilities to treatments inspired by traditional marine skincare and ancient healing practices.

To make the choice easier, our team put together this guide to the best spas in Malta so you can quickly find a spot that fits your needs. Here are the top places to book your next session.

Website: massageinmalta.com

Address: 3 Gorg Borg Olivier Street, Sliema, SLM1800, Malta

Contact: (+356) 2131 5372| (+356) 7958 5333

Schedule: Monday to Saturday 10:00AM–9:00PM | Sunday 1:00PM–9:00PM

Thai Sawadee Massage Spa allows its customers to tap into a healing lineage rooted in thousands of years of therapeutic history right on Gorg Borg Olivier Street.

I personally stopped by for a completely dry massage, and the therapist applied firm pressure while I stayed fully clothed. This approach efficiently worked on my skeletal structure without leaving me feeling greasy.

They also offer thermal herbal packages that deeply penetrate muscles to fight seasonal damp-induced aches.

Their foot treatments integrate manual reflexology with a specialized wooden stick to accurately stimulate vital points.

The only real downside is their high loyalty threshold, as you’ve got to buy ten sessions to get one free.

Still, the upfront pricing and deeply effective techniques make this location incredibly hard to beat for almost anyone seeking serious physical relief.

Pros

  • Customized Ayurvedic energetic oils
  • Upfront tax-inclusive pricing
  • Broad medical massage options
  • Trilingual online booking platform

Cons

  • Requires ten sessions for rewards

Perfect, high-quality Thai massage experience

The spa is easy to get to from the Sliema ferry, and the prices are really reasonable for such high-quality service. Everything about this place – the atmosphere, the staff, the experience – was just perfect.

I have already booked my next appointment for December before I leave Malta, and I honestly can’t wait to return! If you are in Sliema and in need of a relaxing, authentic Thai massage, I highly recommend Thai Sawadee Spa. The staff are so welcoming, and the whole experience is just amazing.  5 stars 🙂

Friendly staff, good couples massage

Of course it doesnt look like the entrance to a hotel spa, but if you look past that its great. Massage was good and both women were friendly for our couples massage! Only improvement I would say is the slightly creaky bed/table and that you can hear a little bit of noise from the hallway.

2. Phoenicia Spa & Wellness

phoenicia-spa-wellness-logo

Website: phoeniciamalta.com

Address: The Mall, Floriana FRN 1478, Malta

Contact: +356 2122 5241

Schedule: Daily 7:00AM–8:00PM

Walking into a wellness space built around an authentic 16th-century defensive wall gives Phoenicia Spa & Wellness a completely different feel from a typical modern spa. The limestone architecture and soft natural lighting make the atmosphere feel calm almost immediately.

One standout feature is the private after-hours option, where you can reserve the entire indoor wet circuit for two hours. That exclusivity makes the experience feel much more personal and relaxing.

Their treatments also lean into holistic wellness, using specialized formulations made from organic Greek ingredients. There’s even a softly lit salt room designed to promote deeper recovery and relaxation.

That said, the spa is pretty strict about scheduling. They charge half the treatment price for short-notice cancellations, so planning ahead is important.

Still, this place feels like a genuinely unique option if you’re looking for a wellness center in Malta that blends historic character with modern treatments.

Pros

  • Extended daily facility hours
  • Strict modesty and privacy safeguards
  • Tailored maternal treatment options
  • Advanced skin glow analysis

Cons

  • Mandatory credit card booking holds
  • Strict 24-hour cancellation fees

Wonderful birthday treats at phoenicia

Recently in Malta for my birthday… treated myself to 2 spa days with wonderful massages at this relaxing spa. Grace, my massage therapist, was wonderful. I highly recommend this spa and the Signature Phoenicia massage! And don’t forget to make a reservation for afternoon tea 😉

Best afternoon tea and service

I have tried afternoon tea in 4 different places in Malta, and Phoenicia is the best one without a doubt for both service and taste!

The first time I went there for a Spa + massage + afternoon package. The spa was nice and quiet but would be better if they had a Jacuzzi and an ice room.

For the second time, we had afternoon tea there yesterday to celebrate the birthday of a friend. I mentioned about birthday in the booking form and they served birthday plate which was so sweet.

3. Myoka Spas, Malta Marriott Hotel & Spa

Website: myoka.com

Address: 39 Main Street, St Julian’s, Malta

Contact: +356 2137 0163 | [email protected]

Schedule: Monday to Friday 9:00AM–8:00PM | Saturday to Sunday 9:00AM–7:00PM

Finding a wellness experience that combines floating therapies with immersive soundscapes is actually pretty rare in Malta, which is part of what makes Myoka Spas stand out

One of our researchers recently tried one of their botanical treatments and kept talking about the prickly pear extract face mask afterward. This sounds like one of their more memorable signature touches, as other clients we spoke with mentioned it as well.

The overall design blends Mediterranean, Oriental, and Nordic wellness influences, so the experience feels intentionally varied rather than tied to one style.

You also get access to a large thermal circuit with a hammam, hydrotherapy baths, and even a spa garden.

The main downside is that many of their better-value promotional packages are limited to quieter weekdays, so finding strong weekend deals can be difficult.

Still, the mix of international wellness traditions gives the spa a very immersive, reset-focused feel.

Pros

  • Free aesthetic skin consultations
  • Two hours of free parking
  • High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) facelifts
  • All-inclusive luxury amenity provision

Cons

  • Minimum of four for group orders
  • Promotional deals restricted midweek

Totally relaxing Galentines spa day

Walk in spa day for a Galentines with my friend, ambiance and atmosphere, totally relaxing, staff, friendly, helpful and outgoing, both the spa reception and the masseuse. In my case I booked a a back shoulder& neck massage which Olga delivered amazingly, I feel relaxed and refreshed. Was offered complimentary drinks before and after my massage which I found is a lovely touch. Will definitely be back again maybe as a solo spa day, or another galentines like today☆

Exceptional service and serene atmosphere

We are frequent at Myoka Lotus, and every time we come we feel like we are home. From very first step at the reception you feel that you will be taken care off and treated very well as receptionists are always welcoming and accommodating.

Facilities are very well maintained, floors never left wet, shower rooms are always clean, massage rooms are very cosy,  interior of the spa is very tasteful and creates an atmosphere of serenity and calmness.

4. Carisma Spa & Wellness

Website: carismaspa.com

Address: InterContinental Hotel, St George’s Bay, St Julian’s, Malta STJ 3310, Malta

Contact: +356 2780 2062 | [email protected]

Schedule: Daily 9:00AM–8:00PM

Carisma Spa & Wellness stands out for how heavily it focuses on marine-based skincare. Every massage and facial uses professional Phytomer products, a French brand built around decades of ocean science.

They’re apparently the only dedicated local provider of that line on the island!

One of the more unique features is their authentic traditional Turkish bath. It adds a different experience from the standard spa setup and is especially popular for exfoliating body treatments.

Their facials also take a more specialized approach, using fluid-delivery techniques designed to hydrate deeper tissue layers.

The biggest downside is probably the gift voucher policy. Vouchers expire after only three months, which feels pretty restrictive.

Still, their membership options are appealing because they include access to pools and saunas across their wider network of facilities, which adds a lot more value beyond individual treatments.

Pros

  • Free parking for gift cards
  • Flexible credit card authorizations
  • Unredeemed membership session rollovers
  • Free facility access for kids under eight

Cons

  • Three-month gift voucher validity
  • Non-refundable team event deposits

Friendly service and helpful staff

My experience at the spa was amazing, starting with the service from Maila. She was very friendly and helpful. She served me a delicious tea at the beginning and then did everything she could to get me a hair dryer for me, as I wasn’t able to dry my hair properly with the one in the bathroom.

The massage experience with Julie was also incredible! She is an excellent professional and made me relax deeply with the Ayurvedic massage. I loved it!

Beautiful experience with professional therapists

My partner and I were extremely happy with the package of anti stress massage by two wonderful therapists Dèbora and Milena. Very relaxing and making sure we are fine and enjoying it. Next time we come we will make sure that we are treated by those two professional therapists. The spa itself Carisma is beautiful and has professional staff with good customer service and making sure that everyone is happy and relaxing. In total beautiful experience. Thank you!

5. Athenaeum Spa

athenaeum-spa-logo

Website:  https://www.corinthia.com/en-gb/palace/leisure-facilities/athenaeum-spa/

Address: De Paule Avenue, San Anton, BZN9023, Malta

Contact: +356 2544 1514 | [email protected]

Schedule: Daily 9:00AM–7:00PM

A quiet setting surrounded by olive groves makes Athenaeum Spa feel like a real escape from the busier coastal hotel areas. The focus here is strongly on mind-body balance, with an emphasis on authentic Ayurvedic-inspired treatments.

One of the more distinctive experiences is a synchronized treatment performed by two therapists at the same time. The whole approach leans into slowing the nervous system down rather than just offering standard spa services.

They also maintain an adults-only wellness zone for guests 16 and over, which helps keep the atmosphere quiet and undisturbed. It feels intentionally designed for people looking for a more controlled, low-noise environment.

That said, higher-tier memberships come with a limitation on thermal circuit use. They restrict visits to under an hour per session, so it’s not really a place for long, lingering spa days.

Even with that constraint, the combination of Eastern healing techniques and landscaped gardens makes it a fairly distinctive wellness experience.

Pros

  • Free entry for overnight hotel guests
  • Inclusive structural fitness classes
  • Targeted postpartum healing massages
  • Private nighttime group reservations

Cons

  • Short facility use timeframes
  • Highly restricted minor swim hours

Super spa for nice family time

Super spa! We had a nice family time with swimming pool and massages. Everything is really relaxing, beginning from a reception with snack and beverages, ending up with showers)))Staff is very nice and everything is very clean

Sweet staff and exceptional massages

I visited nearly all the Deespa locations and took over 20 massages and love to gift spa vouchers. But today it was exceptional – Phoebe just gave me the best massage and she is the sweetest!
