Safety comes first at the 5 best driving schools in Malta
Learning to drive isn’t as simple as riding a bike. There are so many things to think about, and that’s not even adding the factor of dealing with other people on the road. Without proper guidance, accidents can easily occur.
This is why I always recommend going to driving schools. These professionals know the road, and their driving capabilities are among the best. They can even share some of that knowledge and skill with you!
With that in mind, I’ve listed down the best driving schools in Malta that are masters of the road. Through their expertise, students can learn to drive without much hassle.
How much do driving classes cost in Malta?
Driving classes in Malta typically cost between €23 to €28 per hour. This price can easily change depending on the date of the lessons, additional test fees, and the school’s location.

Processing the learning permit with them is easy, as they guide students through it, especially since they’ll need it before they can hit the road.
Also, instructors here are punctual, and I like that driving with them doesn’t just teach you how to drive… they help you predict the roads. The experience also focuses on comfort, allowing drivers to enjoy the lessons.
Even better, they cater to EU and non-EU drivers, giving them opportunities to earn their local license. Booking is also very easy through their website. But do keep in mind that slots are limited, so please book as soon as they’re available.

With more than 15 years of experience, Smart Motoring School is a well-known tuition that offers consistency above everything else. I like that they’re upfront with the cars that they use, mainly a Toyota Yaris Manual, which is a great learning vehicle.
This tuition has 5 instructors, which is enough for a good number of students. It’s great that their driving lessons don’t just involve being behind the wheel… they focus on the fundamentals and theories as well.
Plus, lessons last for an hour or an hour and a half, and cost €20 to €30, which is fairly cheap. As for the other types of vehicles catered to, there’s a good selection, from automatic, manual, and motorcycles.
There are even reviewers for the various exams needed, which I like since it’s a helpful addition to their service.
However, for those already enrolled in a different school, switching to their service requires you to pay a fee of €20.
Always patient, clear, and consistent throughout all my lessons
“I had Mark as my instructor and learned in a Ford Fiesta manual. He was always very patient, clear, and consistent throughout all my lessons. Mark explained the rules properly, corrected mistakes calmly, and made sure I was fully prepared before my test.
Lessons are 1 hour and 30 minutes long and cost €30, which is great value. We also did several mock tests before the exam, which made the real test feel easy and stress-free.
Mark genuinely cares about his students passing, and his effort really shows. Thanks to his guidance, I passed confidently. I’m very grateful and would definitely recommend him to anyone learning to drive in Malta.”

The tuition has male and female instructors on hand, and students enjoy that they’re able to choose which they prefer. In addition, lessons have no mileage limits, so students can drive freely without worry.
It doesn’t just end on the road. I appreciate that students are given thorough theory lessons to support their driving experience.
However, the school is only available during a short 3-hour timeframe. So, stick to the schedule, or you’ll lose your lesson for that day.

The instructor explains clearly in an understandable language
“I recommend Rudolph Motoring School 100%. The instructor explains clearly in an understandable language. The instructor makes you feel confident while progressing through the lessons, and he knows when you are ready for the test. Also, he took me to the routes where the examinators does their test so you can feel more comfortable. One of the things I appreciate about my Instructor Daniel, is his patience, and when I was not doing an excercise good (Parallel parking), he repeated and repeated until I could do it.”
