Eating healthy is the best way to keep fit in this day and age. However, even in a paradise like Malta, it can be difficult to find high-quality fresh produce.
This is when I discovered organic food stores. These locations are often stocked with the best produce, artisanal goods, and high-quality meats, all superior to supermarket options.
I’ve perused some of the best organic food stores in Malta that I could find. These stock the best produce and have the Rural Affairs Department stamp of approval.
1. Farmer’s Deli

Located in San Gwann, Farmer’s Deli is a small yet beloved organic food store that offers some of the freshest produce and most wonderful artisan delicacies in Malta.
I love that their products’ origins are easily traceable through their website. Their produce mainly comes from Malta, Sicily, and Northern Italy, demonstrating their willingness to go the extra mile for customers.
They have the organic operator certification from the MCCAA and operate in accordance with the Organic Farming – EC Control System. Customers are reassured by these certifications, and each product has the Maltese organic logo.
As for products, they have a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as dairy and nuts. Customers can order online and through their safe payment gateway. Plus, I appreciate that there’s free shipping when spending €40 or more.
However, I find it a bit disappointing that deliveries can take a while to process due to the volume they receive daily.

2. Vincent’s

Vincent’s is a lovely farm located in Mgarr. Known as Vincent’s Eco Estate, they have been practising sustainability for years and are often visited for their nearby UNESCO World Heritage site, the Skorba Temples.
They’re regulated by the MCCAA and comply with EU Agricultural standards, which is beloved by their regular customers.
There are a variety of organic products, including fresh produce grown on the farm. Aside from these, artisanal products such as olive oil are sold here. Finding out where each product comes from is easy—ask their on-site staff or check their website.
Produce can also be ordered online, which will arrive on Thursdays. However, I would suggest ordering before Tuesday, 4:00 PM, as this is the cutoff for deliveries. Ordering after will result in your produce arriving the following week.

When looking for vegan products, I’d definitely head to Core Green. Their vegan products are organic, Fairtrade, and ethically sourced. Established in 2011, they often appear in festivals but now have a shop in St. Venera for customers to visit.
They’re certified by the Fair Trade Global Movement, which offers customers insights into how each product is sourced. This also certifies that products are sourced from local farmers, which is a plus.
Core Green offers a variety of products, most notably its herb and spice collection. They even sell GMO-Free items, as well as gluten-free products, which is perfect for those with intolerances.
There are even organic detergents and laundry liquids beloved by vegan customers. I also appreciate their events, which can be a great introduction to the vegan lifestyle.
Still, I wish they offered produce delivery, especially since those items are already available through their online shop.

Naturali Organic Malta offers more than just produce; they also sell meat, poultry, and fish, which is often overlooked by most shops. Located in Mosta, one of Malta’s most easily accessible cities, Naturali is beloved by both locals and expats for its wide range of produce.
The shop stocks over 4,000 products and has slowly been growing since its establishment in 2009. Additionally, many of their items are non-GMO and don’t contain artificial preservatives, so any choice here is a healthy one.
Naturali’s selection is tremendous; the grocery store section alone is jarring enough. Customers can opt to either head to their store or order online—either way, your produce is fresh and locally sourced.
They even sell household items and personal care products priced at €20 or more, which is fairly reasonable. Yet, I can’t say the same for their produce, which I found a bit overpriced.

Casa Natura is a small, quaint organic food store in Malta. Located in the lovely Sliema, Casa Natura has been open since 1990 and has become a go-to for locals.
The shop’s vibes are quite relaxing, with subtle music playing in the background. Additionally, the shelves are easily distinguishable from one another, and everything is packed well with clear labels.
I mainly head here for their teas and organic products, such as a variety of nuts, oils, and vegan items. There’s also vegan protein powder with a variety of flavours and uses. They even house Asian products and teas, which are top-notch in quality.
Customers have even gone here for conditioners and essential oils, which are all natural and organic. But all these nice things considered, the shop lacks fresh produce, which is disappointing. However, the variety of other products truly makes up for this.
