If we had to pick one grooming spot that feels like a proper retreat for your pet, Tat-Targa would be it. Their whole vibe is calm, professional, and focused on making sure your pet feels safe.
One thing we appreciated was their “no drugs, just hugs” motto, and yes, they mean it. They take a gentle, patient approach by grooming one pet at a time. That means no cages and no noisy queues.

Pethouse Grooming Salon in Fgura is like a mini pet spa, no joke. We love that it’s really clean, modern, and run by people who clearly know their way around a nervous pup or a finicky cat.
The salon is headed by Noelle Darmanin, a certified pet groomer with over 10 years of experience. She’s particularly good with anxious pets, by the way. One client specifically pointed that out after her rescue dog’s visit.
And it’s not just for dogs, either. They also groom cats and rabbits, and the setup is properly equipped to handle different coat types and temperaments.
We were also impressed by their use of premium products, such as Chris Christensen, ShowTech, and Groom Professional. This is a clear sign that they prioritise coat health over a quick tidy-up.
But what makes them stand out even more is that they offer grooming courses for pet owners, which is a brilliant way to learn the basics yourself.

Charms Pet Grooming is a cosy, home-based salon in Mgarr. It’s run by Charm, a solo groomer who’s been doing it since 2013. Clients highlight her calm, gentle manner, especially with nervous pets, and many locals trust her.
In fact, customers often mention that even their most anxious pets quickly relax when they’re with Charm. That only proves how she gives calming and gentle care.
Aside from her demeanour and expertise, we like that her full range of services is also available for cats and not just dogs. She offers simple brush-ups to full grooms, and many customers say their pets come back happy and fresh.
We also especially like her strict hygiene protocols. Even though it’s a home-based service, tools are sterilised after each session, so you can ensure your pet’s safety. Plus, her location is also a plus if you’re in the north, where it’s easy to find.
And note that appointments can be challenging to book at the last minute, and you’ll need to message her on Facebook since there is no website yet.

We really like how casual and accessible Pet Zone Pet Shop is, especially if you’re in Zejtun. It’s a short drive from Marsascala and the south’s residential areas, making it a convenient stop for locals.
The store has essentials such as toys, food, leashes, shampoos, and birdseed. It’s ideal for when you’re running pet errands and realise your pup could use a quick trim. They’re also open on Sunday, which is super helpful for busy fur parents like us.
But take note that their grooming isn’t the main focus here. The set-up is simple and limited, so it’s best for low-maintenance trims rather than full spa treatments. If your pet has anxiety or needs special handling, this may not be ideal.
Regardless, what stood out is that they use plant-based, hypoallergenic products during grooming. This is a thoughtful touch if your pet has allergies or sensitive skin.
We also appreciate that their grooming services are among the more budget-friendly options we’ve encountered in Malta.
