Give your kids an unforgettable summer with these 5 best summer school camps in Malta

Programme Variety: I selected camps that offer a balanced mix of academics, sports, arts, and enrichment activities to keep kids engaged and excited.

Safety and Facilities: I assessed the safety of each location, the level of staff oversight, and the quality of the facilities available to children.

Qualified Educators and Coaches: I looked for camps staffed by experienced teachers and trained coaches who can support both learning and fun.

Parent and Guardian Feedback: I evaluated reviews from parents and guardians, focusing on communication and how much children actually enjoyed attending.

Summer school camps have become the go-to solution for parents who want to keep their kids learning and entertained once school’s out. Between busy work schedules and the challenge of finding activities, traditional routines often fall short.

I learnt this the hard way when I tried to juggle work while keeping a restless child occupied all summer. The days felt long, and nothing seemed structured enough to actually help.

That’s where summer camps come in. They’re engaging and packed with activities that help kids grow. If you’ve faced the same struggles, I’ve put together a list of the best summer school camps in Malta that give your child the summer they truly deserve.

How much do summer school camps cost in Malta?

In Malta, summer school camps typically range from €60 to €150 per week, depending on the camp’s duration, activities offered, and whether meals or transport are included. Specialised camps such as robotics, intensive sports, or language programmes may cost slightly more.

What struck me about Camp Willingness is how effortlessly they create a space where kids can grow emotionally and creatively without it feeling forced.

They run their signature Mindfulness Camp for Kids, so parents don’t have to piece together multiple programmes.

Their approach is impressive. Every session is carefully planned and led by skilled professionals. They combine art, yoga, and storytelling, and include water games and practical mindfulness exercises.

It also helps that the team behind Camp Willingness has deep expertise in child development and well-being. Their programmes are evidence-informed, age-appropriate, and designed specifically for children aged 4 to 12.

It’s also reassuring that Camp Willingness has won awards at the Malta Business Awards, including the Leader in Mental Health Wellness – Gold Award (2023). This shows they are trusted and recognised for the quality of their work.

The only minor caveat is that families looking for high-intensity sports or academically focused camps may need to supplement their choices.

Pros

  • Nurturing environment for all kids
  • Specifically caters to ages 4-12
  • Offers a signature Mindfulness Camp for Kids
  • Combines art, yoga, storytelling, and water games
  • Uses evidence-informed programmes

Cons

  • Not focused on high-intensity sports or academic enrichment

Helped me move forward in my life

“Dr. Alexandra first oriented me with all the therapy that the clinic serves. We had a great conversation after the first session, she is open and I felt heard. She is dedicated to help people who are in need of guidance through their problems in their life that they cannot handle anymore or got out of hand and I can feel that there were no barriers in terms of cultures where I came from and where she came from. The sessions helped me understand what I was going through and what I needed to do in order to move on with my situation. I recommend this clinic for future people who are in need of help and i testify that the therapy I had really helped me move forward in my life.”

I would definitely recommend this clinic

“The service received from Willingness Team is of amazing quality. There are so many different professionals specialising in different areas that finding the help you need is made easy. I would definitely recommend this Clinic to my friends and family, and anyone that wants to reach out for any type of support.”

My neighbour recently enrolled her child in HiKids’ summer programme, and the experience was seamless from start to finish.

The centre takes great pride in offering flexible packages that fit any family schedule. If you need a 2-, 3-, 4-, or 5-day week, there’s a perfect option for you.

Their thoughtfully designed programmes use a rotation system. Every child gets to try every activity, keeping things fun and fair.

What’s impressive is that each activity has a dedicated instructor. Every group is guided by qualified teachers, ensuring safety and consistent learning.

With 18 years of experience at Mickey Child Educare Centres since 1996, they clearly know how to deliver top-notch experiences for kids of all ages.

The centre also offers Summer Club, Easter Club, and Christmas Club. There’s always something exciting happening throughout the year.

The only minor drawback is that they don’t provide transport/pick-up services, which can be inconvenient for busy parents juggling school runs and work schedules.

Pros

  • Flexible packages for 2-5 days a week
  • Assigns dedicated instructors for each activity
  • Backed by 18 years of experience
  • Works under Mickey Child Educare Centres
  • Offers year-round clubs

Cons

  • No transport or pick-up services

My kids want to go back next year

“I have nothing by praise for HiKids Holiday Club. Summer School is well organised, communication is very professional and kids pick up is very safe (with the newly introduced QR code) and organised.

My kids want to go back the next year, like they did in previous years, and that for me is the most reliable review yet 🙂

Well done HiKids and Mickeys”

Rush Parkour is not just teaching flips and jumps. They’re growing the parkour scene across Malta.

Classes go beyond just parkour. Body-strength and flexibility workouts focus on the two essential pillars that make the sport safe and effective. Sessions here can also be tailored to any skill level, either in person or in a group.

The benefits? Plenty. You get a full-body workout, improved cardiovascular endurance, and stronger bones. Plus, a mental boost—quicker thinking and sharper focus. It’s fitness that challenges both body and mind.

Your guide through it all is Isaac Camilleri Liberto, a gymnast with over 13 years of experience and an impressive performance history. This includes CHOGM 2015 for Queen Elizabeth, Malta’s Got Talent, and Lovin’ Malta Music Awards.

ADAPT, an internationally recognised parkour qualification, fully qualifies him. Plus, Rush Parkour make movement fun with birthday party packages.

The only catch? If you’re after massive obstacle setups or full-scale competition courses, Rush focuses on skill development rather than extreme park-style runs.

Pros

  • Offers parkour classes that develop body strength
  • Sessions can be tailored to any skill level
  • Led by a highly experienced gymnast
  • Allows birthday party hosting

Cons

  • Does not offer full-scale competition courses

The place is very well kept and clean

“Highly recommended !!

It’s been a quite a while since my son has been participating in a sport, and Today It was a surprise for him. I booked him a lesson with Rush.parkour.Malta. without telling him where we’re going ☺️. Isaac the coach at Rush.parkour is very professional and really good at teaching kids and youngsters, even more teaching and making it fun for them. The place is very well kept and clean, and very spacious.

Returning home, my son didn’t stop talking about how fun it was at the class , and he’s looking forward for next lesson.

Thank you Isaac for the time you spend to transfer your talent onto those who seek it !! 👍👍👍👍👍”

100% recommended!

“Training with Isaac at Rush Parkour has been amazing! I’m a dancer, and I love how he adapts each lesson to me as a dancer and teaches me dance tricks and techniques that help elevate my movement — exactly what I asked for🙏🏻. He’s super patient, encouraging, and always makes the sessions fun and productive. The place itself is awesome too — fully equipped, has ACs, and everything you could possibly need to learn parkour comfortably. I’ve made so much progress and gained a ton of confidence since starting. 100% recommend Rush Parkour if you want to improve your movement, flips, or just challenge yourself in a safe and supportive space!”

Whiz Team Adventure (operated by Whiz Limited) has earned my respect for its holistic education approach.

Their outdoor education activities target students aged 10-15. Participants build confidence and problem-solving skills, all while connecting with nature and maintaining a positive attitude.

I also appreciate that they offer a dedicated Whiz Summer Academy that runs from mid-June through August. Kids aged 9 and up can enjoy swimming, water sports, and engaging nature-based learning experiences.

What caught my eye is their emphasis on social well-being. Their anti-bullying campaign actively promotes respect, inclusivity, and safe participation, ensuring every student feels valued and supported.

Whiz Team Adventure also creates and hosts children’s birthday parties for ages 4 and up, while extending its expertise to family gatherings and corporate events.

If there’s one minor drawback, it’s that their focus is mostly on activity-based learning. Families looking for traditional classroom-style enrichment may need to supplement their offerings.

Pros

  • Emphasises holistic education with outdoor activities
  • Promotes initiatives like anti-bullying campaigns
  • Hosts children’s birthday parties
  • Impressive Whiz Summer Academy

Cons

  • Primarily activity-based learning
  • Doesn’t meet traditional classroom setups

I wholeheartedly recommend Whiz Team Adventure for their top-notch service

GymStars Malta really makes gymnastics fun and accessible for children of all ages and abilities. From toddlers as young as 18 months to National Team members, the centre caters to everyone.

They are the most established gymnastics centre on the island. As a matter of fact, I can attest to this since I have even seen one of their gymnasts bring Malta its first Artistic Gymnastics Medal at the Small Nation Games in Monaco in 2007.

Classes are designed to encourage each child to progress at their own pace, using individualised progress charts rather than focusing on competition.

GymStars is equipped with state-of-the-art FIG-approved equipment for both men and women, ensuring high-quality training.

Their programmes are extensive. These include the D-Impact School of the Performing Arts (Ballet, Hip Hop, Modern Theatre Jazz, Artistic Movement).

There are also full, semi-private, and private gymnastics lessons. There are also walk-in free-play sessions every weekday morning. They also have the New Hope programme for children with learning difficulties, and weekly fun camps starting as early as 8:00 AM.

Unfortunately, adult-focused sessions are limited. Families looking for additional sports may need to supplement outside the centre.

Pros

  • A track record of producing competitive gymnasts
  • Equipped with state-of-the-art FIG-approved equipment
  • Wide range of extensive programmes
  • Conducts fun weekly camps

Cons

  • Limited adult-focused sessions

Very friendly and charismatic staff

“I’m really glad that I enrolled my child to this programme. She had her first session this week and she already likes it. Ms Therese is very friendly, charismatic, energetic and welcoming. My child was immediately attached to her. The session begins with a high energy fun music warm up which I really liked doing with my child. Besides learning gymnastic skills, I personally appreciated the way the teacher engages and interacts with my child. She puts effort to hear the parent’s concerns. She helped me  work to improve my special bond between me and my daughter so that she can also carry out the tasks with me besides with the teacher. Thank you and we’re looking forward for the next session!”

Absolutely amazing indoor soft play area

“Absolutely amazing indoor soft play area. The price of €3 for the hour play is brilliant, I would have gladly paid more to stay longer. My son could have spent all day there. The people there are so lovely too, awesome job.”
