How much does a tutor charge in Malta?
A tutor in Malta typically charges between €10 to €30 per hour. This price can easily increase or decrease depending on the duration of each session, the packages offered, and the tutor’s specialisations.

With over 19 years of experience, Jordan Mifsud of Biology Malta has been tutoring students at different levels of Biology. From secondary, intermediate, and advanced levels, he can help any student understand the complexities of life.
With a background in scientific research, he’s able to provide useful MATSEC notes for SEC O-Level, Intermediate, and A Levels that are always based on the latest syllabi.
Tutoring here comes in small classes of 6-8 students, with around 2 hours per session. Fees are reasonable, costing around €6 to €21 per lesson.
As for schedules, they are quite rigid, with classes happening on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. There are also classes on Saturdays. These are typically in the evening, which is convenient.

Classes are mainly focused on English and Math, and classes are done in small, compact groups. These are often face-to-face and follow a strict schedule.
Reading support sessions are the most prevalent here, but they also offer revisions and homework sessions. I found these useful in helping students understand difficult concepts in a more personalised setting.
Students are even taught conversational Maltese here, which has helped several in improving their confidence in the language.
Classes here are reasonably priced at around €18-€18.75 per class, with packages ranging from €30 to €190 per month.
Enrol at the beginning of the month, or you might end up missing classes you won’t be able to make up.

Classes are led by Clayton Mifsud, who’s been assisting students since 2016. With a background in Computer Science and IT support, he’s quite a knowledgeable teacher who makes learning fun and easy.
He mainly caters to O-Level students, and students love him for his dedication to the subject. Clayton is well-prepared in class and provides challenging activities that truly test a person’s capabilities in these subjects.
Several students have aced their exams thanks to his teachings, and he’s highly reviewed both online and by word of mouth. He’s also always available to help students understand certain topics they might have difficulty with during his classes.
I’ve also seen his syllabus, and I appreciate how detailed it is and how he constantly updates it to the latest ones used in schools.
Still, I wish he offered in-person classes since the atmosphere is already so wonderful.

My Study Buddy makes studying easy. Founded in 2016, their staff are particularly skilled at helping students in a wide array of subjects. Their teaching style is quite thorough, and their teachers often prepare notes for students to read during and after the class.
Classes here are focused on Math, Science, and English. Students describe classes here as fun and challenging, helping them dive right into subjects without fear.
There is constant seatwork and activities to help students apply their problem-solving skills, which helps students train their brains. Constant participation is a must here, but it’s a welcoming environment, so students don’t have to fear.
Each class is taught by a dedicated teacher who has years of experience in their field.
They primarily cater to O-Level students. While this is disappointing, classes are small, and students often receive individual attention from teachers.
